AJ Lee's retirement from WWE in a hush-hush manner has sparked off many speculations. The latest one is that she decided to quit due to the lawsuit filed by the company's doctor Chris Amann.
It is well known that she had issues with the company but the manner in which she walked out of the show came as a surprise. AJ Lee still had her contract with WWE and the wrestler knew that she could not break it. Hence, she chose to retire.
Initially, it was not clear why AJ Lee bid goodbye to the sports entertainment show. Now, a report on WrestleZone states that the decision was mainly taken by Lee following the lawsuit filed by Chris Amann and she informed the company after WrestleMania 31.

Ronda Rousey Stepping into AJ Lee's Shoes?
"The three-time Divas Champion had left WWE in large part due to the ongoing lawsuit by Dr. Chris Amann against her husband, CM Punk. Dave Meltzer backed up these claims in the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, adding that she informed the company of her departure after WrestleMania 31," the website reported.
AJ Lee's decision to retire early means she cannot work for any other company until her contract with WWE expires. However, her relations were not cordial with some people in the company including Stephanie McMahon, Chief Brand Officer and daughter of Vince McMahon. This also possibly forced her retirement.
The relations between the two parties soured after Lee's husband and former WWE star CM Punk was fired from the company in 2014.
However, Chris Amann, Senior Ringside Physician for WWE, filed a lawsuit over some of the comments made by CM Punk on Cabana's "Art of Wrestling" podcast. Punk had accused the physician of not being serious about wrestlers' health and cited the example of fatty deposits on his back.
